New Delhi: A photograph of an Asiatic lion climbing a tree of red flower, has taken the social media by storm after Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared the “lovely picture” on his Twitter handle.
The image clicked by Forest Beat Guard Deepak Vadhar at the Girnar Wildlife Sanctuary in Gujarat’s Junagadh, was first shared by Deputy Conservator of Forests (Junagadh).
“Majestic Gir Lion....Lovely picture!,” PM Modi captioned the image shared by him on Monday.
The photo received a huge response from social media users soon after it was shared on the internet.
A user heaped praises on the photographer for managing to get the rare and beautiful shot. "Dipak sees the forest in his own way as I have learnt from his photographs. Happy to see this picture of his being liked by all," the user tweeted.
Another one wrote that the “pride of Gujarat was beautifully framed by the flame of the forest.”
The Gir forest in Gujarat is the only place in the world where lions can be spotted roaming free in the wild.
According to the World Wide Fund for Nature, presently, Gir forest is the only abode of the Asiatic lion.
